Dimitris Giannakopoulos, the owner of Panathinaikos BC, has received a 10-month ban from all stadiums, as ruled by the ESAKE sports judge.
This punishment is due to his conduct at SEF during the second final against Olympiacos, and he is also required to pay a fine of €20,000.
The ban is effective immediately, preventing Giannakopoulos from attending the third and fifth games of the finals at OAKA.
The ruling cites “acts that bring disrepute to the sport” as the reason for his punishment. Additionally, Kostas Sloukas has been fined €1,100 for inappropriate behavior toward the referee.
Lessort and Papapetrou were found not guilty, while Ergin Ataman received a formal written reprimand. Furthermore, Panathinaikos BC has been fined a total of €54,000; €44,000 for Giannakopoulos’s actions and an additional €10,000 for Ataman’s conduct.
