Russia conducted a drone strike on the Ukrainian town of Priluki overnight, with President Volodymyr Zelensky revealing a heart-wrenching tragedy: the strike resulted in the deaths of the local fire chief’s family.
President Zelensky reported that among the five victims were the fire chief’s wife, daughter, and one-year-old grandchild. The fire chief was involved in the rescue efforts, searching for victims among the wreckage of the attack.
This tragic incident marks the 632nd child fatality since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, according to the president.
“Russia continually seeks to buy time to prolong the killings. When it senses insufficient condemnation and pressure from the global community, it strikes again,” Zelensky stated in his social media post. He noted that during the night, Ukraine faced an assault involving 103 drones and one ballistic missile, affecting the regions of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Odessa, Sumy, Chernihiv, Dnipro, and Kherson.

“This situation underscores the urgent need for maximum sanctions and collective pressure. We anticipate decisive action from the United States, Europe, and all those capable of helping to alter these dire circumstances. Strength is crucial, and this war can only conclude through strength. Moscow must be confronted with all available resources and gradually stripped of its capacity to sustain these aggressive maneuvers,” the Ukrainian president concluded.
