Twenty-four-year-old Mila Magyi, the reigning Miss England, has decided to withdraw from this year’s Miss World competition, set to take place in India. She leveled serious accusations against the organizers, stating that their actions made her feel like a “circus monkey” and a “prostitute.”

Magyi is the first Miss England in the pageant’s 74-year history to withdraw. She cited her breaking point as an incident where she was asked to entertain middle-aged businessmen as a gesture of gratitude for their financial contributions to the event.
“We were told to spend the entire afternoon with them and entertain. It was unbelievable. I thought to myself, ‘This is completely wrong.’ I didn’t come to India to entertain men,” she told The Sun.
“The Miss World pageant is meant to uphold certain values. They made me feel like a prostitute,” she expressed passionately.

She further explained, “I attempted to discuss the values I represent, but it was evident that these men were uninterested. Instead, I felt uncomfortable discussions unfolded. They had us there to thank them, making us feel like circus performers. I cannot accept that.”

According to her, the organizers even scolded them for being “boring,” with one official reportedly clapping her hands in front of Magyi’s face “as if trying to wake me up” to gain their attention. This gesture felt disrespectful, akin to speaking to children rather than adult women.

Magyi also claimed that during the event held on May 7, they were required to wear formal dresses throughout the day, even at breakfast.
She officially resigned from the competition on May 16, nine days later, and her title has been passed to the first runner-up, Charlotte Grant, a 25-year-old from Liverpool.
