Tragedy struck in Kilkis as a 46-year-old woman, who was quadriplegic and under the care of the local disability center (ΚΔΑΠ ΑμεΑ), lost her life due to choking while being fed by her mother.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon (March 27) at the center when the mother was feeding her daughter. The woman struggled to swallow and exhibited severe choking symptoms.
The nearby ambulance service was alerted, and an ambulance arrived promptly. Despite the quick transfer to Kilkis Hospital and the efforts of the medical staff, the unfortunate 46-year-old succumbed to choking, according to eidisis.gr.
The mother of the victim is undoubtedly devastated, having taken on the daily responsibility of feeding her daughter at the center due to her daughter’s serious medical condition to ensure she received the utmost care and attention.
