METLEN has announced the signing of six new contracts for renewable energy projects in the UK, enhancing its footprint in the region.
These new EPC contracts include five solar parks and one Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), with a total capacity of 313.4 MW.
The projects consist of:
- Hulam Solar Park (71 MW) and Sheraton Solar Park (53 MW) in Durham, developed for Lightsource bp
- Scruton Solar Park (55 MW) in Northallerton for AMPYR Solar Europe
- Henley Solar Park (18.9 MW) in Shropshire
- Benthead Solar Park (84.5 MW) in Scotland for Aukera Energy, along with the Benthead BESS, which will offer a storage capacity of 73.3 MWh.
Construction is scheduled to commence at various points throughout 2025, with all projects expected to be finalized by the end of 2026. The estimated value of these contracts is around 110 million dollars.
Additionally, METLEN has successfully completed three more renewable energy projects in the UK. Two of these, for AMPYR Solar Europe, are located in Norfolk: the Northwold solar park (10 MW) and the Northwold BESS, boasting a capacity of 9.86 MWh. For Pulse Clean Energy, METLEN also delivered the Coal Pit BESS, which has a capacity of 73.31 MWh in the Manchester area.
With a strong history and an expanding portfolio, METLEN is leading the way in the UK’s energy transition. This includes 58 solar projects with an installed capacity of 1.54 GW and 27 BESS projects with a total energy capacity of 1.18 GWh, representing nearly one-third of the nation’s energy storage market.
