This morning, the Hellenic Police (ELAS) launched a significant operation leading to the arrest of 20 individuals suspected of being part of a human trafficking network.
Reports indicate that most of those detained are of Syrian and Egyptian descent.
Video footage shared by ELAS shows that police executed at least three raids across various locations, uncovering bags filled with counterfeit passports, drawers with stamps, and envelopes containing cash.

The operation was coordinated by the Athens Subdirectorate for Crime Suppression and Investigation, which successfully apprehended the ringleader, who operated a large-scale forgery lab in an apartment within a social housing complex in Peristeri.
Sources suggest that this network is implicated in over 500 instances of illegal migrant trafficking, having established four document forgery workshops, with illicit earnings estimated to exceed €4 million.
