A 4.5 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale hit Evia at 3:23 a.m. on Monday. The tremor was felt across Attica, including Athens.
According to an updated report from the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter was located 3 km east of Prokopi, Evia, with a focal depth of 16.9 km.
Previously, the automatic report from the same institute had initially identified the epicenter as 8 km east of Prokopi, with a depth of 5 km.
Originally, the automatic system registered the epicenter as 6 km east-northeast of Prokopi, also estimating the depth at 5 km.
In addition to Attica, the earthquake was felt in the Sporades islands, including Skiathos and Skopelos, as well as in Elefsina.
A second tremor occurred shortly after at 3:43 a.m., measuring 3.6R, in the same vicinity, 8 km east-northeast of Prokopi, at a depth of 5 km.
