Untalented, Horrible, Idiot”: Trump… insulted Bruce Springsteen, who called the American government “corrupt and insidious

Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Bruce Springsteen today, labeling him a “dummy” just two days after the rock icon criticized the “corrupt” Trump administration during a concert in the UK.

As he returned from his Middle Eastern tour, Trump took to Truth Social to express his displeasure: “I see that the overrated Bruce Springsteen went abroad to speak poorly about the President of the United States.”

The President continued, branding the 75-year-old singer—known for his long-standing support of the Democratic Party—as “untalented,” “frustrating,” and an “idiot” who endorsed Joe Biden. He added, “That dried-up prune (his skin has atrophied) should just shut up.”

Trump’s comments came after Springsteen, famed for hits like “Born in the USA” and “The River,” delivered a series of speeches denouncing Trump as an “unfit” leader. During the opening of his “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour with the E Street Band in Manchester, Springsteen referred to the current administration as “inept.”

In his speech, Springsteen lamented, “My homeland, the America I love, a beacon of hope and freedom for 250 years, is under a corrupt, inept, and insidious government.” He called on the audience to “raise their voices against authoritarianism and let freedom prevail.”

The artist emphasized, “In America, individuals are persecuted for exercising their right to free speech and expressing dissent. That’s happening right now!” He also critiqued the wealthy elite who take pleasure in the suffering of American workers and emphasized the importance of standing against dictators.

However, he remained optimistic, stating, “America is a great country with good people. We will get through this.”

The Manchester concert marked the first date on Springsteen’s summer European tour, titled “The Land of Hope & Dreams Tour,” which aims to draw in 700,000 fans over 16 shows.

Having sold over 150 million records, Springsteen is known for his lengthy performances and unabashedly progressive values. A close ally of Barack Obama, he previously supported Kamala Harris at a rally just days before the November elections, which Trump ultimately won.
