Social media erupted with reactions to a drone show that illuminated central Athens last night.
Organized by a prominent sportswear brand, the spectacular images quickly spread online. However, many questioned how permission for this event was obtained. The display took place near the Acropolis, prompting doubts about the Ministry of Culture‘s authorization process.
Sources from the Ministry commented, stating, “It could have been a drone show, lasers, or something else entirely.” They added, “The Ministry of Culture is initiating legal action against all parties involved. We are currently investigating with the Civil Aviation Authority to determine if proper permits for drone usage were secured.”

The official statement from the Ministry of Culture reads:
“Concerning an advertisement from a sportswear brand featuring the Acropolis, we announce that the responsible departments of the Ministry will file, within the day, a lawsuit against all accountable parties for breaching archaeological laws. Furthermore, the Ministry is liaising with the Civil Aviation Authority to investigate whether the drone flight approval process adhered to existing regulations.”
