The combined capitalization of the 25 billionaires listed on the Athens Stock Exchange stands at nearly 105 billion euros, granting them control over 86.7% of the Greek market.
Following the separation of Terna Energy, companies valued at a minimum of 1 billion euros now total 104.56 billion euros, overcoming last month’s psychological barrier of 100 billion euros.
Currently, there are five companies worth over 7 billion euros and nine companies exceeding 5 billion euros, collectively valued at 73.4 billion euros. All banks on the Athens Stock Exchange are among the top-valued firms, with a collective capitalization of 36.4 billion euros, which represents 30% of the total market.
Despite a dip yesterday, Coca-Cola HBC remains valued at 16.6 billion euros. Two banks, Eurobank and National Bank, are nearing the 10 billion euro milestone, with valuations of 9.4 and 9.2 billion euros, respectively. OPAP and OTE also exceed 7 billion euros, while Piraeus Bank is valued at 6.8 billion euros.
In addition, Metlen is valued at 6 billion euros, with Alpha Bank and Jumbo at 5.8 billion euros and 5.1 billion euros, respectively. Jumbo ranks 10th at 3.9 billion euros, while several companies fall within the 2.5-3.0 billion euro range. These include Titan Cement (3.1 billion euros), AIA (2.7 billion euros), Bank of Cyprus (2.7 billion euros), Motor Oil (2.4 billion euros), and Helleniq Energy (2.3 billion euros). Near the 2 billion euro mark are GEK TERNA and Cenergy, followed by Prodea and Viohalco around 1.5 billion euros.
Rounding out the banking billionaires, Attica Bank and Optima Bank have valuations of 1.2 billion euros and 1.1 billion euros, respectively, while Lamda, Aegean, and Aktor are not far behind. The newest member of the ATHEX billionaires group is PLO, whose valuation has recently surpassed 1 billion euros, earning a spot among the elite “25”.
