A private meeting is currently taking place between Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at Villa Pampili in Rome.
This meeting will precede the plenary session of the Supreme Cooperation Council between Greece and Italy, with joint statements from both leaders expected around 15:30 local time.
It’s important to note that the European Council will address significant upcoming challenges for Europe, including competitiveness, EU defense and security, as well as illegal immigration.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis is joined by several ministers: Foreign Affairs Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, Defense Minister Nikos Dendias, Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis, Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, Rural Development Minister Kostas Tsiaras, Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Giannis Kefalogiannis, along with the Deputy Minister of Transport Konstantinos Kyranakis and Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Nikos Tsafos.
