White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt stated on Fox News that the recent trade agreement between the United States and China is “an excellent first step in the right direction.”
Levitt noted that China has committed to “continue discussions” aimed at further opening its market to American products and expressed a willingness to “pursue serious discussions” regarding the effects of Chinese-sourced fentanyl in the U.S.
“President Trump will keep negotiating with China, with the expectation that we will ultimately achieve a fair and comprehensive trade agreement,” she remarked.
