Even in broad daylight, wolves are making their presence felt in the villages of the Sperxeios plain. A resident of the Local Community of Kastri in the Municipality of Makrakomi recounted an unexpected encounter, saying, “I froze when five wolves suddenly appeared through the trees…” as reported by ilamia.gr.
According to the farmer, “There must have been three others hiding in the trees, but they didn’t show aggression…”
This incident took place around noon on Friday (9/5) as the farmer was returning from his fields and came face to face with the wolves.
“Caution is essential. I was surprised to see them in broad daylight. It’s the peak season for kiwi farming, and women are often working in the fields, which creates a sense of fear.”
The farmer shared with ilamia.gr that this wasn’t the first time wolves have roamed the area, which is known for its livestock farms. “However, seeing so many at once and during the day is unprecedented,” he added.
