Investigation into organized crime at the Halkidiki Urban Planning Office: Falsified documents and payments for non-existent public works

An investigation is currently underway at the Halkidiki Urban Planning Office regarding organized crime, following allegations of forged documents and payments for public works that were never completed. Asimina Yfantis, the Vice President of the Supreme Court and head of court inspections, has traveled to Thessaloniki for an urgent review of urban planning services in Halkidiki, as there are significant indications of a case similar to the organized crime network linked to the Urban Planning Office in Rhodes.

Reports indicate that payments were made for public works that were not actually executed. Payment orders were issued that were unrelated to the fulfillment of public works contracts, and there have been instances of falsified documents (certificates) concerning the completion of these projects, among other irregularities.

Charges have already been filed for the formation of criminal organizations related to the non-execution of public works, and the individuals implicated have been released under restrictive conditions.

Ms. Yfantis is probing a series of serious criminal cases to ascertain the details of what transpired and to determine if any judges are involved, as well as whether they may have committed disciplinary violations or criminal acts in the course of their duties.
