On the morning of Sunday, May 11, the Police Department conducted a raid at a beach in Anavyssos to ensure public access to the area.
The Greek Police (ELAS) reported that five business owners and temporary managers were arrested during the operation. Although they possessed a canteen license, they had set up tables and speakers, effectively turning the space into open bars. Additionally, they had placed umbrellas and chairs over a significant portion of the beach.
A case has been filed against them for illegal occupation of a beach, and relevant authorities have been notified.
The arrested individuals have been referred to the appropriate prosecutor.
According to ELAS, “…similar operations are being conducted along the coastal areas of Attica.”
