Stefanos hailed from a prominent family in Trikala. His father, Stefanos Kemos, is a businessman who, along with Stefanos’ uncle, operates a car dealership in the area.
Friends who witnessed the incident recalled with horror seeing his lifeless body being washed ashore by the relentless waves.
The Coast Guard, along with paramedics from the EKAV emergency service and assistance from the Fire Department, worked to transport Stefanos to an ambulance, but his death was confirmed upon arrival at the hospital in Lefkada.
