Οι δύο κόρες του ζευγαριού που tragically lost their lives in a car accident on Holy Tuesday along the Egnatia Road near Polymylos, Kozani, are mourning the loss of their parents.
The siblings, aged 40 and 35, arrived early on Holy Thursday from Zurich, Switzerland, where their unfortunate parents, aged 73 and 69, had been living permanently.
Accompanied by their relatives, the two children first went to the hospital in Naoussa, where their parents’ bodies had been taken, to provide DNA samples for necessary formal identification.
Following that, as reported by kozanimedia.gr, they traveled to Veria and the Traffic Police of Imathia to learn about the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident that claimed their parents’ lives.
The siblings have decided to transport their parents’ remains back to Zurich for the funeral, and the arduous bureaucratic procedures typical in such cases are already underway in collaboration with a funeral home.
A strong sense of grief is also felt in the small local communities of Livaderou and Mikrovaultou in Servia, from where the two accident victims hailed.
As reported earlier today by enikos.gr, surveillance footage has implicated the driver of the truck that collided with the two cars at the Polymylos toll station. The footage, which was stored on the central server, has confirmed the claims made by the driver of the first car, contradicting the truck driver’s account of the incident.
