Ένα κορίτσι μόλις 12 ετών tragically lost its life early Thursday morning in a car accident on Λεωφόρος Θηβών, near Ρέντης. The driver of a private vehicle reportedly lost control, leading to the child being hit.
According to information from ERT, the incident occurred just before dawn, with initial indications suggesting driver error under as-yet unclear circumstances.
The driver remained at the scene and attempted to render aid, while an ambulance from ΕΚΑΒ was called promptly. The child was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, the medical team was unable to save her.
The driver is currently in custody and is being questioned by police as part of the investigation being carried out by the relevant police department to determine the exact causes of the accident.
