The Spanish population is still reeling from the shock of last year’s deadly floods, which were the worst natural disaster the country has seen in decades. Many blame the government and local authorities for their slow response in warning residents about the impending danger.
Footage broadcasted by the La 7 news network shows a car being swept away in a turbulent river in Murcia. A woman was rescued by fishermen who acted quickly, while a man was freed with the aid of a tractor from his flooded field, according to La Sexta network.

Fernando López Miras, head of the regional government in Murcia, stated that there have been no reports of casualties from Thursday’s flooding. He added that meteorologists did not anticipate such severe flooding events.
According to the Spanish meteorological agency, some areas have received more rainfall since the beginning of the month than they typically do throughout the entire spring. They warned that rainfall is expected to continue through the weekend.
