The situation regarding the fire in Monemvasia has improved. Earlier on Monday (23/06), an evacuation message was sent via 112 for local residents. In addition, firefighting resources have been bolstered.
According to the latest updates from the Fire Service, wind speeds have slightly decreased, and there is a minor reduction in smoke emissions. However, the wind direction continues to shift consistently, as indicated by the same reports.
The Fire Service has increased its efforts, deploying 72 firefighters along with three teams of ground personnel from the 9th E.M.O.D.E., 21 vehicles, eight aircraft, and one helicopter. Additionally, water tankers from Civil Protection are assisting in the operations.
So far, there have been no reports of damage.

The message from 112 advised: “If you are in the areas of Karavostasi & Plytra, evacuate towards Papadianika.”
